Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions we get from DFW homeowners.

How hard is the water in Dallas–Fort Worth?       +

Most DFW municipalities supply moderately to very hard water, largely due to the region's limestone-heavy source water. Hardness levels vary by city and even by neighborhood, which is exactly why we test your specific water before recommending anything rather than assuming your home matches the city average.

Do I need a softener, a filter, or both?       +

It depends on what's actually in your water. A softener addresses hardness and scale; carbon filtration addresses chlorine, taste, and odor. Many DFW homes benefit from both, but we won't recommend equipment your water test doesn't support.

How long does an installation take?       +

Most installations are completed in a single day, start to finish, including system startup, leak testing, and a full walkthrough of how your new system works.

What does the workmanship warranty cover?       +

Melody backs every installation with a one-year workmanship warranty. Equipment components are covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Full details are provided in writing with your agreement.

I rent my home or I'm in an HOA. Can I still get treatment installed?       +

If you rent, we recommend confirming with your landlord before scheduling — some systems, like under-sink RO, are easier to approve than main-line equipment. Most HOAs don't restrict interior water treatment, but exterior visibility rules vary, so it's worth a quick check if you're unsure.

Do you offer financing?       +

Ask us about current financing options during your water assessment — we'll walk you through what's available for your situation.
